You can enjoy a whole range of water-based activities here, from paddle boating and windsurfing to snorkeling, diving, sailing, banana boating, kayaking, waterskiing, jet skiing, fishing, and parasailing.
Located west of Nadi and the main island of Viti Levu, the Mamanuca Group has a plethora of gorgeous white sand beaches and numerous resorts on hand for a utopian vacation. Fiji’s tourist hub along with the Yasawa Group, these islands attract millions of visitors from all over the globe, with there perennial sunshine, tranquil azure waters and mild gentle breezes. There are over 22 resorts in the Mamanucas, with excellent accommodations for all to enjoy, whether you are on your honeymoon or out vacationing with your family. The resorts here range from budget to top-end accommodations.
Whether you are looking to party, or just relax on the beach and soak in the sun, you can do it all in the Mamanucas. The Beachcomber Island Resort is the place to head for if you want to party the night away, while if you are here on a budget, head to the Bounty Island Sanctuary Resort with excellent food and a friendly staff. For an exclusive getaway, the Vomo Island Resort is the place to be, while if you are here with your family, the Plantation Island Resort is a great option. When choosing a resort to stay at, don’t forget to ask if children are allowed, as some are exclusively meant for adults/couples only.
While most of the Mamanuca islands are grasslands with coconut palm fringed beaches, some islands are significantly forested and are home to many native birds and reptiles. The Monu and Monuriki islands on which the movie Cast Away was shot are two such examples.
