Nadi Entertainment
Since Nadi is the main entry point into Fiji, this busy city also has plenty of entertainment and a good nightlife. There are a number of bars, clubs and restaurants in town, which are great places to garb a drink, have some delicious food and hear plenty of good music. Most of the bars, clubs and restaurants are located in the downtown area along Main Street, with many of the larger hotels in Nadi also having live entertainment during cocktail hour.
Ed’s Bar and Mama’s Pizza are two popular places to grab a quick drink. The Fiji Mocambo Hotel offers live bands, rave music and karaoke nights at their club on Friday and Saturday nights. To enter you have to pay a cover charge, plus a dress code is also enforced. The Planters Club Bar at the Sheraton Royal Denarau also has a disco, with every Wednesday night showcasing a fire walking performance, while on Saturday nights meke shows take place with a lovo dinner.
Another popular waterhole in Nadi has to be The Bounty Bar & Restaurant, on the Queen's Road in Martintar. Many expatriates come here to watch sports and an cold beer. For a more subdued environment, the café at The West's Motor Inn, on the Queen's Road has a piano bar for a relaxing night of entertainment.
If you are in the mood for a movie, Nadi has a few cinemas in the downtown area that show a variety of movies. The latest Hollywood and Bollywood movies are screened regularly. Bollywood movies are Indian Hindi movies, which are very popular with Fiji’s Indian population. Some times these movies have English subtitles and are worth a watch for their song and dance routines. The Galaxy 2 cinema on Ashram Road has four daily movie screenings, except on Sundays. To find out which movies are playing when, check the Fiji Times newspaper for details.
